![]() ![]() The Speed Dial start page receives a gamer-focused redesign. As an “Early Access” release (another tactic taken from video games), Opera GX occasionally rolls out experimental abilities. Much of this functionality comes from the regular Opera Browser, but it’s just as useful here. Opera GX has so many cool features that it’s tough picking one that stands out the most. The higher those numbers the better, and Opera GX's fast and web-friendly specs stack up well against rivals like Firefox (205, 491), Google Chrome (182, 528), and Microsoft Edge (179, 535). Opera GX scored 523 out of 555 on HTML5test compatibility testing. ![]() Like the regular Opera browser, it scored 193 points on WebXPRT 3 speed testing. Once I got used to its Mountain Dew-like exterior, I had no issues using Opera GX as just a normal, modern web browser. You can turn the music off, or adjust the volume, if you want to work in quiet. It’s nifty, and without vocals, the music doesn't get in the way of your thoughts. As I worked on this review-quickly typing out notes and taking screenshots-the background music picked up the pace and grew more intense. As you browse, an ambient electronic score plays that dynamically changes based on what you’re doing, something video game soundtracks have done for a long time. Opera GX is also an audio experience, not just a visual one. Dark pages blend in much better with the rest of the browser’s color scheme, so I recommend making that switch. Opera GX gives you the option to automatically flip any compatible websites you visit to Dark mode by default. So, I found myself distracted by the constant technicolor icons surrounding the content. I like my web browsers to be invisible and let the web page itself take center stage. Opera GX’s visuals aren’t quite as ridiculous as some other gamer-centric software. You can swap between different color themes, such as Ultraviolet and Purple Haze, for a different look. Opera GX’s interface pulses with colorful outlines on dark backgrounds, like a future imagined in the 1980s. The first thing you’ll likely notice about Opera GX is the aesthetic, a look that says, “Yes, this is a browser for gamers.” From chairs to mice to PC cases, companies love to mark their products as gamer-friendly by slathering them in harsh, glowing neon colors. Launching the browser takes no time at all after downloading the 3.5MB installer. Like the normal Opera browser, Opera GX has an Android and iOS app. Opera GX runs on both Windows 10 and macOS. Best Hosted Endpoint Protection and Security Software. ![]() Whatever your personal pick for best web browser, we can safely say this looks like a release well worth checking out – and one that might even make a convert out of the most hardened Chrome user. The latest version of Opera also features something of an aesthetic overhaul, with the new Opera featuring a borderless design available in both light and dark themes. The authentication process and notifications will therefore still be handled via smartphone. This intriguing crypto wallet feature won’t work in the Opera web browser alone, though, but rather sync with the user’s Opera Android app. “At Opera, we want to improve the quality, privacy and security of your web browsing and to give you access to features other browsers don’t yet have.” After all, the browser remains the most important application through which you interact with the Web over many hours each day. ![]() “We believe these features should constitute the new standard of browsing and that users shouldn’t settle for anything less. Introducing the new features on its blog, Opera writes: Users are also promised souped-up privacy controls and something called ‘Web 3’, which is basically geek potty-talk for blockchain support – hence the baked-in crypto wallet. The company is touting its latest software as the first true next-gen browser, due to the addition of a free native VPN and an integrated cryptocurrency wallet. Opera version 60, or Opera Reborn 3, is now available for Mac, Windows and Linux. Google’s Chrome might be the world’s most popular browser, but rival Opera has just released a tasty update – one that comes complete with a free VPN and built-in cryptocurrency wallet. ![]()

Freeing up space on your device means it'll perform better and quicker. ![]() A single image file may not take up a lot of space, but the large number of pictures we take daily can quickly build up. One of the key benefits of using the cloud, for photos or otherwise, is that it helps you save disk space on your devices, external hard drives, or memory cards. Everyone maintains their own account and has access to a Family Room folder-where they can contribute to and edit an album-from any device. A collaborative photo management service like Dropbox lets you and your loved ones synchronize photo albums across multiple accounts in shared folders. Or get on the same page with a Dropbox Family Plan. With Dropbox, you can easily share any file or folder even if the recipients don't have an account.įor example, on a family vacation, chances are everyone's going to be taking pictures on their own devices. Because soils have such a large storage capacity, enhancing soil storage by even a few percentage points makes a big difference. But over the last 10,000 years, agriculture and land conversion has decreased soil carbon globally by 840 billion metric tons of carbon dioxide (GtCO 2), and many cultivated soils have lost 50–70% of their original organic carbon. Soils hold three times the amount of carbon currently in the atmosphere or almost four times the amount held in living matter. Difficulty of measurement: monitoring and verifying carbon removal via soil carbon sequestration is currently difficult and costly.Reversibility: the carbon captured via soil carbon sequestration can be released if the soils are disturbed societies would need to maintain appropriate soil management practices indefinitely.Saturation: soils can only hold a finite amount of carbon once they are saturated, societies will no longer be able to capture more carbon using soil carbon sequestration.Reduced fertilizer use: healthier soils require less fertilizer, saving farmers money and reducing environmental impacts.Increased climate resilience: healthier soils make farms more resilient against both droughts and heavy rainfall.Improved soil health: soil carbon sequestration helps restore degraded soils, which can improve agricultural productivity. ![]() In addition to providing local environmental and economic benefits, these practices can capture carbon dioxide (CO 2) from the atmosphere and store it in soils, making them a form of carbon removal. Increasing soil carbon is accomplished in various ways, including: (1) reducing soil disturbance by switching to low-till or no-till practices or planting perennial crops (2) changing planting schedules or rotations, such as by planting cover crops or double crops instead of leaving fields fallow (3) managed grazing of livestock and (4) applying compost or crop residues to fields. ![]() Soil carbon sequestration, also known as “carbon farming” or “regenerative agriculture,” includes various ways of managing land, especially farmland, so that soils absorb and hold more carbon. ![]() ![]() ![]() “revention is better than cure,” according to Save the Rhino. This vision of extinction has spurred debate in conservation circles, with some arguing that saving the northern white rhino is a poor use of resources. Still, the last male’s death is likely not far in the future, given his advanced age. Over the next week, however, Sudan began to stand, graze and even wallow in the mud. ![]() 28 that a leg infection was threatening the elderly rhino’s life and that Sudan was responding poorly to treatment. Caregivers at Ol Pejeta Conservancy reported on Feb. Sudan is cared for around-the-clock by a team of veterinarians and protected from poachers by armed guards. The question becomes-is saving the northern white rhino worth it? Rhinoceros reproduction The resulting pregnancy could then be implanted into a southern white rhinoceros ( Ceratotherium simum simum), a closely related subspecies. Najin and Fatu, both of whom still produce eggs, are the more valuable rhinos for the future, as their donor eggs could be used in in vitro fertilization with stored sperm from a deceased male. Regarding saving the subspecies, Sudan is already functionally obsolete, said Jan Stejskal, director of communications and international projects at Dvr Králové Zoo in the Czech Republic, which technically owns the three rhinos. Najin is too old to bear the weight of a mating male or to carry a pregnancy, while Fatu has uterine problems. Sudan is too old, and his sperm quality is dismal, keepers discovered when they last collected his semen in 2014. None of the rhinos will ever reproduce again naturally. They all live under armed guard at Ol Pejeta Conservancy in Kenya. The other two, Najin and Fatu, are his daughter and granddaughter, respectively. There are only three northern white rhinos ( Ceratotherium simum cottoni) left in the world. But although 45-year-old Sudan is still standing-for now-conservationists are debating whether his subspecies has a chance at survival. The last male northern white rhinoceros is wallowing in the mud and grazing again after an age-related infection nearly spelled his end earlier this month. ![]() ![]() ![]() Further, unlike other programs, ours extends beyond dialysis-based care to facilitate transplant evaluations and, when needed, palliative care.Īt the start of the program, a nurse care coordinator (co-author Diane Goodwin) connected with Brigham and Women’s ESRD patients weekly at four dialysis units, identifying those at risk for deterioration and increased utilization (ED visits and hospitalizations) and implementing strategies to reduce utilization and improve clinical outcomes. While other programs, like the CMS ESRD demonstration projects, have piloted care-coordination models with large dialysis organizations, ours is the only such program that we’re aware of that coordinates care across all stakeholders (dialysis units, hospitals, primary care providers, and others) rather than focusing on care within the dialysis unit itself. That’s why in 2016 we launched a coordinated ESRD program within Partners Healthcare, based at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) in Boston, one of the first to bring the care-coordination principles that are increasingly common in primary care to disease-specific specialty care. Gaps in care are inevitable, and opportunities to intervene before problems arise are often missed. Patients receive care through a patchwork of providers at various sites - outpatient dialysis units, primary care practices, specialty clinics, hospitals and others – which often don’t communicate. Finally, while ESRD patients make up less than 1% of the Medicare population, they account for more than 7% of the Medicare budget – a staggering $50 billion annually.įragmented care is an important part of the reason for the high costs and utilization and often poor outcomes associated with ESRD. ![]() For patients on dialysis, hospitalization rates and risk of developing related medical problems, and of dying, are high. Transplants are exceedingly scarce, and so for the vast majority of the 750,000 people affected by ESRD in the US each year, dialysis is the only viable treatment. On a national level, ESRD takes a huge toll on patients, families and caregivers, and society. This type of siloed, uncoordinated ESRD care has serious consequences for Bonnie and thousands of patients like her. Bonnie is hoping for a kidney transplant, but she doesn’t know where to start, and she has yet to undergo an evaluation to see if she’s eligible. When she’s hospitalized, her medications are sometimes changed, but that critical information often doesn’t get back to her many providers. Nor is there communication between the dialysis unit and her primary care doctor (PCP). The ED and dialysis unit don’t have a shared electronic health record, and on discharge there is little communication between the two sites about her care. Often, she wakes up breathless and ends up in the emergency department. She has chronically low blood pressure, which complicates the dialysis, and ingests a lot of salt which causes weight gain between treatments. ![]() Bonnie is 65 and suffers from end-stage renal disease (ESRD), the gradual failure of her kidneys. A patient we’ll call Bonnie has been on dialysis for five years, making the difficult trip three times a week to a clinic to sit for hours hooked up to a machine that filters toxins from her blood. ![]() ![]() ![]() They can be a clever fighter with a variety of skills and a knack for evasion. The rogue doesn’t need to be a wanted criminal on the lamb. This subclass is clearly focused on being a frontline warrior, and the features make Link a true force on the battlefield. They are flavored as legendary heroes of destiny, possibly being demigods or the personal errand boys of the setting’s pantheon. Glory Instead of being sworn to the light or the law, the Glory Paladin is the harbinger of the goddesses. While 5e has backed away from typecasting Paladins as Lawful Good, this is probably the most Lawful subclass one could pick, as it places the authority of the royal family above all else. This makes Link the princess’ personal knight, and an agent of lawfulness, order, and peacekeeping in the land. Crown With this vow, Link serves the Hyrulian Royal Family. ![]() It also has a druidic or fey aspect, which kind of works for Link. The Ancients Paladin is all about protecting the balance in the world and valiantly opposing evil wherever it might arise. Ancients This oath makes Link sworn to the forces of nature, such as the Great Fairy, and protecting the balance and harmony of the light, life, and love against death, decay, and darkness. Across every timeline and game over screen, Link has always returned and stood in defiance against whatever evil may come. Especially when he’s dedicated multiple lifetimes to the same cause. They swear their life to a cause and are prepared to die fighting for it. More than any other class, the Paladin actually stands for something. The main reason to want this subclass is the Warding Maneuver, as giving Link the chance to either block or reduce all damage he takes is going to seriously improve how well he can tank a hit, and help keep him in a fight longer. So Link does not have to be glued to Epona to make use of this subclass. They can also be flavored as bodyguards, a traveling sellsword, or castle guards. It is the idea of the knight in shining armor. Cavalier The subclass is poorly named, and was better in its initial name as the Knight, as that is really what this subclass is. ![]() To my knowledge, none of the other characters can combine their abilities like this in Smash. Even in Smash, Link showcases how clever he is by being able to combine his arrows with his bombs and shoot a bomb arrow. ![]() Its many maneuvers resembles the numerous sword techniques Link has learned especially in the later games. Of all the fighter subclasses, none is more clever than the Battle Master. He looks for weak spots, and he exploits them the best he can. Battle Master Link is a strategic fighter. From the earliest games, Link has been a master of the sword, the shield, and the bow. It is the simple skill of the blade, and this is a skill Link has in spades. It’s not beholden to rage, or smites, hunting, or sneaking. While there are many martial classes, the Fighter differentiates itself by being the most down-to-earth option. But Valor is better than Swords and also gives Link proficiency with martial weapons and shields, while Swords does not. Valor This college has the downside of being built as a cheerleader, while Link really should be built for solo-combat since that’s how he approaches most fights. For a non-BotW example, maybe Link can tell stories of his past lives, and the memories he shares with each of them. Spirits (UA) This doesn’t fit for every Link, but especially for Breath of the Wild where Link gets help from the spirits of his fallen comrades, the flavor of calling on the dead works for Link. Yeah kind of hard to depict Link as a CHA caster who isn’t proficient in any CHA skill checks. While I don’t subscribe to the idea of Link being a bard myself, I understand why people would come to this conclusion, as Link isn’t really bad at anything. Link is a talented young man, and he has had magical instruments in a few games over the years, as well as dancing in Subrosia, among other things. ![]() ![]() Click the icon to start recording and play the digital voice recorder to your PC or Mac microphone and have Google transcribe your recording directly into google docs. Now, with the S8’s dedicated Preparation mode for its dual displays, you can break away from the big screen. The S8 can also operate as a standalone mixer like the Z2, however, sans-FX. By comparison, the S4 series requires a paid license upgrade for DVS control privileges. Just like Z2, the S8 comes with a full Traktor Scratch Pro license allowing timecode vinyl/CD control (DVS) out of the box.
